Must-Have Boots for Fall

Having recently swapped hemispheres (North to South), I am slowly adjusting to the change in not only actual seasons, but fashion seasons as well. My gut is telling me that it is Spring, and that I have six months before the Fall catwalk trends roll out. But in actual fact, it's now Autumn for me here in Australia, and that means back to boots.

So here are five boots that every self-respecting shoe lover should have this Fall/Winter, and I'll show you who makes 'em, regardless of your budget.

1. The Cutout Ankle Bootie
I absolutely love the cut-out boot trend, it gives a cute peekaboo effect to an otherwise very strong look. Wear these with bare ankle for a snippet of skin below your drainpipes, or with bright socks/tights for an on-trend colour-block effect.
Toga Pulla - $590 AUD
Urge - $199 AUD

Cotton On - $49 AUD
2. The Graphic Print
Let your boots be the center of attention with the season's bright and beautiful patterns and graphics. Pair with solid neutrals from head to toe for a chic statement, or be bold with clashing patterns from top to toe
Givenchy - $1705 AUD
Dr Martens - $194 AUD

Top Shop - $50 AUD

3. Backless Beauties
These boots are the newest take on the slingback, with dramatic open heels. I would style these with the longer length skirts that are so on-trend for this fall, as a higher heel will help balance the look for those of us not blessed with Amazonian height, and the cheeky flash of skin will keep the look from becoming matronly.
Iceberg - $765 AUD
Senso - $509 AUD

ASOS - $97 AUD
4. Over-the-Top Texture
One of the key Fall/Winter trends is head to toe solid neutrals, and the way to make this work for you is to break up those solid stretches with gorgeous textures. Fall boots deliver, with all-over lace, exotic skins, and luxe embellishments. This is one of those time when more is more.
Maison Martin Margiela - $1117 AUD
Witchery - $199 AUD

H&M - $69 AUD

5. Heavy Metal Hardware
Hardware is one of the things that can make a really simple shoe stand out from the crowd. This season, small but striking gold hardware is highlighting heels and toes, and I absolutely love it. It gives a simple boot that extra something that lets you dress it up if you want without looking like you're trying too hard.
Giuseppe Zanotti - $1439 AUD
Kurt Geiger - $289 AUD
ASOS - $68 AUD
Are there any Fall/Winter boot trends you'll be jumping all over? Let me know in the comments below.
